Chief Executive Officer
Prior to forming Oso Resources, Spence teamed up with R. Bryan Waller and formed SouthStar Exploration in 2003. SouthStar generated and operated 10 3D seismic projects between 2004 and 2020—mainly in Southern OK, the largest covering 96 sections, resulting in numerous wells being drilled.
Spence began his career in the oil and gas business in 1977 with Rockwell Petroleum in Glenville West Virginia before returning to Oklahoma City as a landman for Jess Harris Inc checking records, buying leases, and settling surface damages. Spence then worked as a landman for Dawn Energy Company, Carson Petroleum Corp and Alexander Energy Corp before forming Eagle Land & Minerals Co. in 1994 to provide land consulting to a group of small oil and gas firms.
Spence graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in 1976. Civically Spence is a member of the OKC Downtown Rotary Club, Committee of 100, CASA of Oklahoma County and a former board member of A Chance to Change Foundation.
